Event History
The Brazilian Forest Measurement Meeting (MensuFlor) is a biennial event that brings together researchers and professionals in the areas of dendrometry, inventory and forest management, among other specialties related to the collection and analysis of forest data. Below, we present a history of previous editions
In 2014, Curitiba hosted the second edition of MensuFlor. The event stood out for promoting in-depth debates on innovative techniques in forest inventory and sustainable management of Brazilian forests. It was attended by around 300 people.
II MENSUFLOR (2014)
CURITIBA, PR - UFPR


The first edition of MensuFlor took place in 2012, in the city of Diamantina, Minas Gerais. The main objective of this inaugural event was to bring together experts to discuss advances and challenges in forest measurement in Brazil and was attended by around 180 people.
I MENSUFLOR (2012)
DIAMANTINA, MG - UFVJM
The fourth meeting took place on August 16 and 17, 2018, at the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), in Rio Grande do Sul. Among the topics discussed were the use of remote sensing and ecophysiology tools in forest inventory and modeling, as well as discussions on the National Forest Inventory of Brazil.

The third edition, held in 2016 in Piracicaba, São Paulo, brought together professionals and academics to discuss advanced measurement methodologies and the use of new technologies in the forestry sector. The event was attended by 200 people.
III MensuFlor (2016) Piracicaba, SP - ESALQ
The 6th MensuFlor took place from August 23 to 25, 2023, in Recife-PE, promoted by the Department of Forest Science at UFRPE. The event's theme was "Forest measurement beyond limits", addressing new technologies and practices for forest conservation and productivity. The meeting discussed technological innovation, partnerships between institutions and the dissemination of knowledge among academics and professionals. It was a space for updating and exchanging experiences in forest measurement applied to native and planted forests. The event was attended by 200 people.
VI MENSUFLOR (2023)
RECIFE, PE - UFRPE


Due to the impossibility of holding the event in person in 2020, the fifth edition of MensuFlor was adapted to an online format and took place between August 16 and 26, 2021. The meeting maintained its purpose of bringing together researchers and professionals to discuss relevant topics in the area of forest measurement, taking advantage of the possibilities offered by digital platforms to reach a wider audience. The event was attended by approximately 250 people.
